Habitat bright ideas with Fleur Thorpe – DIY projects
Make your own colourful hopscotch and keep the kids happily hopping. Use leftover Resene paints or buy your children’s favourite Resene testpot colours.

Step 1
Start by priming the pavers with Resene Concrete Primer.
Step 2
Paint two coats on to the top of each paver using your chosen Resene colour, this will be the colour for all the numbers. Fleur used Resene Softly Softly.
Step 3
Once the paint is dry, use a pencil to draw on the numbers from 1 to 10. You can draw this on freehand or trace around a computer printout of the numbers.
Step 4
Finish by painting each of the pavers with your chosen colour. Fleur used (in order from 1-10) Resene Surfs Up, Resene Gobstopper, Resene Splish Splash, Resene Kermit, Resene Bright Spark, Resene Orang-Atan and Resene Chaos.
Top tip
If you want a glossier finish, you can overcoat with Resene Concrete Clear. Avoid playing the hopscotch game when wet as the moisture can make the surface slippery.
