Habitat bright ideas with Fleur Thorpe – DIY projects
Use wood panels to make hooks for your keys and dogleash in your favourite colours.

Wall colour – Resene Bittersweet
Step 1: Cut the wood into three lengths – two at 25cm long and one at 35cm long. Sand off any rough bits from the cutting. Paint each piece with Resene Quick Dry.
Step 2: Once dry, give each piece a quick sand with a fine grit sandpaper.
Step 3: Paint the two short lengths of wood in your choice of Resene colour with two coats of paint, allowing for the first coat to dry before applying the second coat. Repeat using a second Resene colour on the longer piece of wood. Fleur used Resene Liberty and Resene Rebel.

Step 4: Use a small craft paint brush and your choice of Resene colour to paint on the words ‘His’ and ‘Hers’ at the top of the two blue boards and paint a dog’s paw print onto the longer piece of wood. Fleur used Resene Ecru White.
Step 5: Attach wardrobe hooks to the bottom of each piece of wood and use wood glue to glue all three bits together. Attach to the wall using screws.
Top tip: For extra family members add extra panels of wood and paint each in their favourite Resene colour – that way there are no excuses remembering whose keys go where.
