Instructions

Step 1:  Cut fabric to a rough size and shape. Using loops of Sellotape on the back of the stencil, position the stencil into the desired location.

Step 2:  Using a small craft paint brush, fill the openings of the stencil with your chosen Resene testpot colour. Fleur used Resene Bittersweet.

Step 3:  Repeat until the desired size of the image is achieved. Take care to remove the stencil each time without smudging the fabric.

Step 4:  Using scissors, trim the fabric to the desired size.

Step 5:  Sew a hem over the top of the fabric with a sewing machine and thread a piece of dowel through the hem and use string to hang it up with.

Top tip: Choose three favourite Resene testpot colours and use them to paint the gaps in the stencil. These could be three contrasting colours or for a subtler effect three tone-on-tone colours.
