Habitat bright ideas with Fleur Thorpe – DIY projects

Make large ANZAC poppies to decorate your garden and celebrate ANZAC day. Fleur Thorpe shows you how.

You will need

Instructions

Step 1:  Start by painting five large paper plates in Resene Poppy. (Photo 1).

Step 2:  Once dry, make a mark at each quarter around the edge of the plate and make a cut as shown at each quarter. (Photo 2).

Step 3:  Paint five cupcake cases in Resene Blackjack.  The cases lose their shape and flatten out with being painted, which is fine. (Photo 3).

Step 4:  When the cupcake cases are dry, slightly scrunch them up and use a hot glue gun to glue them to the centre of each plate. (Photo 4).

Step 5:  Find five sticks from the garden and cut into five lengths.  Paint with Resene Green House and when they are dry, hot glue them to the back of the plates. (Photo 5).

Step 6: ‘Plant’ your poppies along your front fence/garden in remembrance of ANZAC Day. (Finished project).
