Paint your own mandala–dot bowls

Give old bowls a lift of colour with this mandala-dot style effect.
Mandala–dot bowls
You will need
- Wooden bowls
- Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer
- Resene testpots in your choice of colours; Nikki used Resene Pink Lace, Resene Poet and Resene Kandinsky for the bowls and Resene Alabaster for the dots
- Artist’s brush
Instructions
- Coat the bowls in Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer.
- Paint them in your chosen Resene testpot colours.
- Using the artist’s brush, paint the dots in Resene Alabaster, with thicker dots in the middle and smaller dots as the pattern spreads out.
- Once dry, use the bowls as tea light holders or for jewellery and trinkets.
Top tip: Use Resene FX Metallic Gold or Resene Silver Aluminium for the mandala dots to add a touch of bling. For tea light holders use Resene FX Metallic Gold or Resene Copper Fire to reflect the warmth of the light.
