Students are colourful people who often come from all walks of life, looking to obtain skills and knowledge for the future.
Unlike other large buildings in the central city, which may be used for more corporate means, there was a need for the Auckland Business School to reflect this sense of brightness and shine.

As such, exterior and interior walls in the Fisher & Paykel Appliances Auditorium are painted with Resene Lumbersider in Dynamite, a dynamic magenta shade that is offset against the building's metallic tones.
Resene Lumbersider is based on a tough 100% acrylic resin, which ensures maximum durability in exposed areas. It imparts a natural satin look that is fully washable. This product adheres well to primed and natural substrates, timber, concrete and old paintwork. For the Fisher and Paykel Appliances Auditorium, the texture of the concrete cladding beneath shows through.
Resene Hi-Glo Aluminium is also used in the auditorium. This product is based on a 100% acrylic emulsion, which allows ease of application. It is well suited for applying over cementitious surfaces, as well as aluminium and timber.
