Defining moment

To contrast the cool, white sculptural look of these freestanding fixtures, the designer of this bathroom specified walls painted in Resene Tea.

Providing a strong colour contrast has always been a way to highlight specific design elements. For this new ensuite bathroom, it was a collection of sculptural, freestanding fittings that helped determine the wall colour.

Bathroom with strong colour contrast

The warm tones of Resene Tea form a natural backdrop to the freestanding fixtures in this new ensuite bathroom. The house was built by DJ Hewitt Builders, Christchurch.

A white oval tub and stand-alone vanity, which has a white stone top with waterfall sides, are contrasted by Resene Tea from the Resene The Range Whites & Neutrals fandeck.

Resene Tea

Described by Resene as a complex river boulder beige, Resene Tea complements urban greys and deep blues, as well as blackened whites. It also makes a natural backdrop to the dark timber shelves and cabinetry in this bathroom.

The Range Whites & Neutrals fandeck is a collection of Resene’s most popular whites and neutrals. The fandeck presents strength variations, making it easy to choose a tonal colour scheme.

Resene also recognises that bathrooms, laundries and kitchens sometimes require special treatment to help prevent the build-up of bacteria and mould. Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen Kitchen & Bathroom paint combines the existing benefits of this low-odour, waterborne enamel with added anti-bacterial silver protection, and the mould protection of MoulDefender.
