Fine skin

The house boasts a fine skin as well as strong bones – paint surfaces on the exterior and interior are all in Resene high-tech paint systems.

For the house exterior, Eden Homes specified Resene X-200 over Resene Limelock undercoat. Resene X-200 is an Environmental Choice-approved water-proofing membrane with crack bridging properties, providing a durable, low sheen finish, particularly over plaster.

Resene products were specified for use throughout the home. Interiors were painted in Resene Zylone Sheen Zero. Paint finishes were tinted into varying strengths of Resene Parchment for a warm neutral look. Resene products are Eden Homes’ preferred surface covering product. They are specified for their durability, extended coverage, and eco-friendly makeup.

Resene Parchment

Resene Limelock is designed to cure and seal in any free lime, minimising the risk of lime staining ruining the fresh paintwork. This provides an appropriate base for subsequent Resene finishes.

Resene Zylone Sheen Zero was introduced on the home’s interior surfaces. The low-sheen acrylic is also an Environmental Choice-approved surface and a particularly good choice for a family home as it is free of volatile organic compounds – helping prevent headaches, asthma, nausea, respiratory complaints and allergic reactions.

Resene surface products were also used for the ceilings, interior undercoats and trims for the Eden Homes residence.
