To provide the right white for this apartment interior, the designer chose a shade from The Range Whites & Neutrals fandeck from Resene.
There is nothing straightforward about the colour white. From off-white shades with a hint of black to pink-tinged hues and cream tones, there are hundreds of variations.

For the walls in this apartment ware-house renovation, owner-architect Matt Brew of Cantilever Architects chose Resene Quarter Parchment from The Range Whites & Neutrals.
Brew says he wanted to keep the walls relatively unadorned to achieve an art gallery starkness. Resene Parchment creates a strong, yet unobtrusive backdrop for his collection of 1960s furniture.

The walls were painted in Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen, a low-odour, waterborne enamel, which is well suited to kitchens, bathrooms and broadwall areas. Resene marketing manager Karen Warman says this paint provides a durable, washable enamel-like finish. In critical light areas, its reduced side sheen will minimise surface imperfections.
“Combined with a skim coating of Resene Broadwall Surface Prep, or 3 in 1, a great finish is easy to achieve,” she says.
The Range Whites & Neutrals fandeck presents 300 colours and provides colour chips flush to the right edge of each card, making it easy to match with other swatches. This fandeck complements The Range fashion fandeck, which features more than 150 shades that reflect local and international colour trends.
