To provide a durable dark stain for the cedar weatherboards on this renovated house, the designer specified Resene Woodsman in Resene Crowshead.

Dark-coloured cladding looks right at home in a native bush setting, as this project illustrates.

The cedar exterior of this remodelled house was finished in oil-based Resene Woodsman.

This exterior of the house, built in the early ‘80s, originally featured a reddish-brown wood stain. Over many years, the finish had deteriorated to the stage where the cedar boards were also being affected.

When the house was renovated, much remedial work was carried out on the cladding, which was then finished in oil-based Resene Woodsman in Resene Crowshead. This solvent-borne wood stain enhances the look of the wood grain and is suited to both dressed and rough-sawn boards.

Resene marketing manager Karen Warman says normally Resene Woodsman requires minimal surface preparation and is easy to apply.“

This mould-resistant wood stain is also available in a waterborne version – Resene Waterborne Woodsman, which is Environmental Choice approved,” she says. “Alternatively, you can choose Resene Waterborne Woodsman Cool Colour technology designed to reflect more of the sun’s heat and reduce heat build-up in the coating and substrate.”

Resene Woodsman is equally well suited to fences and garden furniture.
