Achieving a pleasant working environment that will continue to look good for years to come, as well as allowing for easy updating, is a dilemma every company faces when moving into new premises.

Colourful office accents

For the headquarters of Microsoft New Zealand, the solution was to create a neutral background that could then be offset with accent colour through the installation of sculptural elements and furnishings.

Resene Quarter Parchment from the Resene The Range Whites & Neutrals was chosen as it complements a wide range of colours, says Resene marketing manager Karen Warman.

“Resene Quarter Parchment is a pearly winter grey with warm undertones – this makes it the perfect backdrop in broadwall areas,” she says.

Surfaces were coated with Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen, which provides the durability of an enamel with the benefits of a waterborne paint, such as low odour and easy clean-up.

A neutral palette that would offset the sculptural design elements and furnishings was chosen as the background to Microsoft’s Auckland headquaters.

As well as these practical advantages, Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen also has visual benefits, for instance, in critical light areas its reduced side sheen minimises surface imperfections.

The Resene The Range Whites & Neutrals fandeck presents 300 colours and provides colour chips flush to the right edge of each card, making it easy to match with other swatches.
