Clever use of colour can transform your kitchen. You can also appreciate the durability of a low-sheen, waterborne enamel with Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen.

Mixing materials is a popular design trend. But it is colour that will really set off key features – think sleek, stainless steel appliances against a dark, navy backdrop, or timber beams highlighted by an off-white ceiling.

Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen enlivens this new kitchen designed by architect John Mills. Resene Zen on the walls is accented by Resene Thunderbird and Resene Revolver. Resene Loafer highlights the use of dark timber in this kitchen by Nicola Cumming.

The two kitchens shown here both feature Resene colours from The Range, a collection of fashion shades. One kitchen presents a lively, colourful living area, while the other reflects a more subtle design approach. Both kitchens were painted with Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen, a low-sheen, waterborne paint that provides a tough, durable, enamel-like finish, well suited to kitchens and other wet areas.

Resene marketing manager Karen Warman says Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen provides all the benefits of a waterborne paint, such as low odour and easy clean-up.

In addition, in critical light areas, the paint’s reduced side sheen will minimise the appearance of surface imperfections. “Combined with a skim coating of Resene Broadwall Surface Prep, a great finish is easy to achieve,” says Warman.
