Resene Sandtex Mediterranean finish is ideal for a wide range of projects where a textural effect is desired.
This project involves transforming a plywood rectangular box into a sponge finish plaster look letterbox. However instead of using plaster, Resene Sandtex has been used to create the same look.

It is hard to differentiate the look of two coats of Resene Sandtex Standard rolled on using the High Solids Roller sleeve from a sponge finished plaster from a paint finish.
And it wasn’t hard either.
Resene Sandtex is an easy way to apply a textured coating to a flat surface by brush or roller so is suitable for DIY and commercial customers. It is a lightly textured paint that is available in two grades – Standard and SuperFine.
Resene Sandtex is recommended on the following areas:
When you need to disguise an imperfect surface – including interior walls and exterior concrete.
When the customer wants a Mediterranean style finish, Resene Sandtex can be applied using a brush in 2 or 3 coats using a criss cross ‘Crows foot’ technique to achieve a random finish that disguises issues and suits concrete, or inside over plasterboard.
If doing a large area, a roller can be used to put Resene Sandex on before texturing with the brush.

Use Resene Sandtex as a base for paint effects including metallic effects created using Resene FX Metallic. The light texture makes applying the effect easier and gives an added dimension to the finish.
