Lennox Head

The theme for the mural is around suburban living and the healthy coastal lifestyle of Lennox Head.

Pottsart was approached by the Ballina Shire Council, NSW Australia to tender for a mural to be painted on to a recycling water tank above Lennox Head in the north of the shire.

The theme for the mural is around suburban living and the healthy coastal lifestyle of Lennox Head. Pottsart approached the design with a collage concept in mind. Following extensive research of the history of the area, a number of sketches were created before the preferred option was rendered in full colour in Photoshop, for final presentation to the Council.

Over the next few months the design was put on public display for final approval and comment, with Council approval and funding being granted in April 2015. The mural was stared in late May and completed in June.

With the focus on ‘healthy lifestyle’ as a theme, the colour palette needed to be upbeat colours, This was achieved with Resene Lumbersider low sheen waterborne paint in Resene Scooter, Resene Energy Yellow, Resene Shocking, Resene Seagull, Resene Judge Grey, Resene My Sin, Resene Delta Blue, Resene Tiber, Resene Black, Resene White, Resene Awol and Resene Clover.
