The clients’ natural inclination is towards monochromatic tones with pops of colour, which could be seen from their choice of art around their home and was the foundation of the colour concept.

The clients’ natural inclination is towards monochromatic tones with pops of colour, which could be seen from their choice of art around their home and was the foundation of the colour concept. Resene Foundry was chosen for the fireplace wall to create drama and depth, in order to contrast the flat space and hard finishes. The living room which contains the fireplace wall runs off the kitchen which has a neutral, natural stone palette. It was important to connect the warmth of the fire with the rich earth-like colour selection to create a soothing atmosphere for the living space.

With the abundance of natural light, the room could easily carry the intensity of Resene Foundry.
