Dunedin

This kitchen interior design was a combined effort between interior architect, architect and supplier input.

Once designed, the kitchen was imported fully made from Germany, with just the finishing touches to be added locally. Bar 12mm, the kitchen designed and created from plan, fitted perfectly into the space.

While the kitchen was under production, floor and wall finish choices were being made.

Keen to have rubber flooring, red was selected as it would fit well with the kitchen units and ply walls.

The ply look bench mimics the ply wall, which creates a link through to the ply in lounge area. The ply wall was finished in a Resene clear finish to protect the ply and make it easier to keep clean. The walls were to be white – Resene Wan White – providing a neutral backdrop so colour could be added in other ways, as has been done elsewhere in this home.

The blackboard wall created with Resene Blackboard Paint was a later addition and visually connects the kitchen colour scheme with the black exterior joinery.
