Built on a lifestyle block, this home has a wide colour palette. In the family room the colours needed to be sympathetic to the large expanse of Oregon ceiling and trusses and the oversized greywacke stone fireplace. Resene Tea was used on the walls with a feature of the stronger colour Resene Stonewall for the two end walls.

In the large entrance foyer Resene Half Sandcastle is complemented by Resene Metallic Copper on the curved stairway wall for a touch of glamour and on alternating walls upstairs which play well against the black wrought iron balustrading.

Inspiration for the colour scheme and theme for the boys’ bedroom came from a treasured red iron toolbox. Resene Jalapeno was used as a feature colour behind the bed as the red matched the toolbox. A striped fabric for the roman blind inspired the other colours in the room – Resene Billy T and Resene Matisse. Resene Comfort Zone and Resene Quarter Tea complete the look.

The master bedroom bed linen matches a wedding colour theme and for an opulent look an imported colour chandelier and anaglypta wallpaper painted in Resene Biscotti with the remaining three walls in Resene Half Biscotti. On the plaster cornice and ceiling are Resene Pearl Lusta for a creamy finish.

Guest room 1 uses Resene Half Smalt Blue and Resene Quarter Crisp Green to complement existing green furniture. A brass chandelier painted in Resene Beatnik has crystals hung on it for extra glam. An antique mirror and cabinet have also been transformed with Resene Beatnik into a funky matching set.

By keeping the ceilings white and using Resene Enamacryl in Resene Rice Cake on the window frames and skirting boards throughout this home, it has made the stronger wall colours pop.
