Behind every storm cloud is a silver lining. Suffering the tragedy of finding out the home was leaky with the large expense of a re-clad and a complete internal renovation of the 12 year old house, the silver lining was the opportunity to revamp the colour scheme and presentation of the house.
The starting point was the external colours of the new materials. The concrete grey Eterpan panels work well with the New Denim Blue window joinery juxtaposed with a cedar wood finish on the front doors, garage and balustrade plus ‘eyebrow’ soffits. Internally the floor finishes provided a strong base of colour to work from.
The carpet chosen was New Zealand made ‘Hilton’ by Irvine International. ‘Tundra’ is a warm charcoal grey.
The colour provides a connection to the exterior and the flamed basalt forming the border to the balconies off the living room and working as a hearth to the gas fireplace. The basalt tiles link with the external granite tiles ‘Padang Grey’.

Internally the main wall colours are Resene Tea in the living room and Resene Half Tea elsewhere to walls and ceilings. Feature walls of Resene Half Felix and Resene Felix were chosen for their ability to show off paintings and other finishes in the vicinity. The interior has been carefully finished with drapes to accent these wall colours and other finishes to suit.
