Weekend DIY with Mark Rayner - Project 32

Difficulty level: Easy

You will need: 16mm screws, Damp cloth, Paintbrush, Paint stirrer, Resene Lustacryl tinted to Resene Dutch White, Resene Quick Dry, Sandpaper , Screwdriver, Small screws, Small casters (x4)

To get the look: Mark painted the background wall with Resene SpaceCote Flat tinted to Resene Double Dutch White.

Other ideas: Use a combination of bright colours from the Resene KidzColour range to create a funky toy box.

How to make a storage crate

Step one
Lightly sand the crate to remove any rough edges.

Step two
Wipe off any sanding residue with a damp cloth. Allow wood to dry.

Step three
Carefully stir the Resene Quick Dry.

Step four
Apply one coat of Resene Quick Dry to the crate and allow two hours to dry.

Step five
Carefully stir the Resene Lustacryl.

Step six
Apply one coat of Resene Dutch White to the crate and allow two hours to dry.

Step seven
Apply a second coat of Resene Dutch White to the crate and allow two hours to dry.

Step eight
Fix the casters to the base of the crate with 16mm screws.
