How to create a potted plant stand

Create this simple painted plant pot stand using some offcuts of treated timber and a little bit of Resene know-how.

Difficulty level: Moderate

You will need: 40mm galvanised nails, Hammer, Paintbrush, Pencil , PVA glue (exterior), Resene Lustacryl tinted to Resene Paua, Resene Quick Dry, Sandpaper, Saw, Tape measure Treated timber (we used offcuts measuring 25mm x 50mm)

To get the look: Mark painted the concrete patio with Resene Non-Skid Deck & Path paint tinted to Resene Scorched Clay.

Instructions

 
Step oneStep one
Mark five pieces of timber measuring 600mm and two pieces of timber measuring 300mm.
Step twoStep two
Use the back of the saw to mark cutting lines, as shown.
Step threeStep three
Cut the lengths of timber using the pencil lines as a guide.
Step fourStep four
Smooth any cut edges with sandpaper.
Step 5Step five
Attach two of the longer lengths to the two shorter lengths, as shown, fixing at each corner with PVA glue and nails.
Step sixStep six
Repeat step five, fixing the remaining lengths in position, as shown. Allow glue to dry.
Step eightStep seven
Apply one coat of Resene Quick Dry to the plant pot stand and allow two hours to dry.
Step nineStep eight
Apply two coats of Resene Paua to the plant pot stand, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.

Other ideas: The plant pot stand could also be stained with any colour from the Resene Woodsman range.
