How to build a bird bath

Weekend DIY with Mark Rayner - Project 66

You will need:

To get the look: Mark painted the background shed wall with Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Pale Leaf.

Other ideas: For a pale green effect paint the bird bath with Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Soft Mint.

Instructions

 
Step 1 Step one
Carefully open and stir the Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer.
Step 2 Step two
Apply one coat of the Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer to the planter and allow to dry. (Note: if the surface of the planter is shiny, then sand it first to ‘key’ the surface.)
Step 3 Step three
Carefully open and stir the Resene Concrete Primer.
Step 4 Step four
Apply one coat of Resene Concrete Primer to the paver and allow to dry.
Step 5 Step five
Carefully open and stir the Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Eighth Stonewashed.
Step 6 Step six
Apply two coats of Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Eighth Stonewashed to the planter, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step 7 Step seven
Apply two coats of Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Eighth Stonewashed to the paver, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step 8 Step eight
Place the paver on top of the planter and then place the large ceramic bowl filled with water on top of this.
