How to create a terracotta planter
It’s easy to create this simple planter using a couple of terracotta pots and some Resene testpots.

You will need
To get the look: Mark stained the background fence with Resene Woodsman tinted to Resene Warm Kwila.
Other ideas: For subtle green effect use a combination of Resene Soft Apple and Resene Parsley.
Instructions
Step one
Apply a generous amount of exterior construction glue to the base of the terracotta bowl.
Step two
Place the terracotta pot on top and allow the glue to dry.
Step three
Apply one coat of Resene Aquapel and Terracotta Sealer to the planter and allow to dry.
Step four
Apply one coat of Resene Red Herring to the outer sides of the planter and allow to dry.
Step five
Apply a second coat of Resene Red Herring to the outer sides of the planter and allow to dry.
Step six
Turn the planter upside down and paint the base rim with two coats of Resene Pohutukawa, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step seven
Turn the planter the right way up and paint the outer and inner top rim with one coat of Resene Pohutukawa and allow to dry.
Step eight
Apply a second coat of Resene Pohutukawa to the outer and inner top rim and allow to dry.
