How to repaint a garden trellis

Exterior: It’s easy to give an old trellis a new lease of life with a little bit of help from Resene.

Difficulty level:  Moderate

You will need

To get the look:  Mark used buxus for the clipped topiary balls.

Other ideas:  For a dark green effect stain the trellis with Resene Waterborne Woodsman tinted to Resene Rangitoto.

Instructions

 

Garden trellis - Step 1 Step one
Mix one part Resene Moss & Mould Killer to five parts clean water in the garden sprayer.


Garden trellis - Step 2 Step two
Thoroughly saturate the trellis with the diluted Resene Moss & Mould Killer solution and leave for 24 hours.


Garden trellis - Step 3 Step three
Mix one part Resene Timber and Deck Wash to three parts clean water in a bucket.


Garden trellis - Step 4 Step four
Wearing rubber gloves, thoroughly scrub the trellis with diluted Resene Timber and Deck Wash solution.


Garden trellis - Step 5 Step five
Rinse off the Resene Timber and Deck Wash using a water blaster on a low pressure setting and allow to dry.


Garden trellis - Step 6 Step six
Carefully stir the Resene Waterborne Woodsman tinted to Resene Pitch Black.


xGarden trellis - Step 7 Step seven
Apply one coat of Resene Waterborne Woodsman tinted to Resene Pitch Black to the trellis and allow to dry.


Garden trellis - Step 8 Step eight
Apply a second coat of Resene Waterborne Woodsman tinted to Resene Pitch Black to the trellis and allow to dry.
