Crown Exterior Semi-Gloss is formulated with a combination of top quality acrylic emulsions blended with high grade pigment dispersions for a durable and washable exterior semi-gloss finish.

Typical uses

Performance

  1. Excellent intercoat adhesion.

  2. Excellent adhesion to all suitably prepared cementitious surfaces.

  3. Acid and alkali resistant.

  4. Resists mould growth.

Limitations

  1. Do not apply at temperatures below 10°C or when it is liable to drop below 10°C during the drying period.

  2. Will not penetrate chalky or powdery surfaces.

Surface preparation

All surfaces

Clean the surface thoroughly to remove all dirt, dust and loose material. Ensure the surface is free from oil, grease and mould. If moss and mould are present, treat with Resene Moss & Mould Killer (see Data Sheet D80)

All sanding dusts can be harmful. Always wear appropriate protection.

Seek expert advice if working with lead, chromate or asbestos based materials or surfaces.


Priming

Primer required Yes, dependent on surface. Ensure the correct substrate primer and/or sealer is used.

Timber

Crown Acrylic Primer Undercoat (see Data Sheet C06), Resene Quick Dry (see Data Sheet D45) or Resene Wood Primer (see Data Sheet D40).

Matai, Spotted Gum, Totara

Crown Acrylic Primer Undercoat (see Data Sheet C06) or Resene Quick Dry (see Data Sheet D45).

Cementitious surfaces, fibre cement board

Resene Concrete Primer (see Data Sheet D405) or solventborne Resene Sureseal (see Data Sheet D42).

Cementitious plaster render

Resene Limelock (see Data Sheet D809).

G.R.C. panels, glossy concrete, precast concrete panels

Resene ConcreteSeal 3 in 1 (see Data Sheet D409).

Galvanised steel, Zincalume

Resene ArmourX GP Metal Primer (see Data Sheet D411), Resene Galvo One (see Data Sheet D41) or Resene Galvo- Prime (see Data Sheet D402).

Application

Apply by Brush, speed brush, synthetic fibre roller or spray
10 square metres per litre per coat
Dry film thickness 40 microns at 10 square metres per litre
Dry time (minimum) 45 minutes at 20°C
Recoat time (minimum) 2 hours at 20°C

Clean up Water

Stir thoroughly before use. Fill all nail holes and cracked timber after priming. Apply two full coats of Crown Exterior Semi-Gloss allowing dry time between coats.
