You will need

To get the look: Mark painted the background wall with Resene SpaceCote Flat tinted to Resene Midnight Express.

Other ideas: For a bold blue and orange combination, use Resene Bowie and Resene Adrenalin.

How to make a geometric painting

 

Step 1 Step one
Apply one coat of Resene Quick Dry to the frame and MDF and allow to dry.

Step 2 Step two
Apply one coat of Resene Broom to the frame and MDF and allow to dry.

Step 3 Step three
Apply a second coat of Resene Broom and allow to dry.

Step 4 Step four
Mask off the painting into a series of rectangular sections, as shown.

Step 5 Step five
Paint the edges of alternate rectangular sections with Resene Broom and allow to dry – this will prevent the other colour from bleeding through.

Step 6 Step six
Apply one coat of Resene Kingfisher Daisy to these same masked sections and allow to dry.

Step 7 Step seven
Apply a second coat of Resene Kingfisher Daisy to these sections.

Step 8 Step eight
While this coat of paint is still wet, carefully remove the masking tape and allow the paint to dry.
