Christmas cheer!
Make your very own mini Christmas tree ornament with a little bit of help from Resene.

Difficulty level: Moderate
You will need: Green craft tinsel, Mini terracotta plant pot, Paintbrushes, Piece of thin cardboard, PVA glue, Resene Art Action Quick Dry waterborne primer undercoat, Resene Testpots of Resene Kermit, Resene Pohutukawa and Resene Volcano, Scissors, Sticky tape, Toilet roll tube
Top tip: If you don’t have a mini terracotta pot, a plastic lid from an old aerosol spray can will do just as well.

Step one
Cut a half-circle from the cardboard and bend around to form a cone shape, as shown. Fix the back join with a piece of sticky tape.
Step two
Paint the toilet roll tube, cardboard cone and mini terracotta pot with one coat of Resene Art Action Quick Dry and allow to dry for two hours.
Step three
Paint the mini terracotta pot with two coats of
Resene Pohutukawa, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step four
Paint the toilet roll tube with two coats of
Resene Volcano, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step five
Paint the cardboard cone with two coats of
Resene Kermit, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step six
Wrap the green craft tinsel around the cone and fix at the back with a piece of sticky tape. Glue the toilet roll tube into the mini terracotta pot, and glue the cardboard cone onto the toilet roll tube. Let the glue dry – and have a Merry Christmas!
