Turn a couple of empty Resene paint tins into these super groovy stilts using two contrasting Resene colours.

Resene kids art with Mark Rayner - Project 88
Difficulty level: Moderate
You will need: Paintbrushes (including anartists’ brush), Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Chaos, Resene Waterborn, Resene Testpot of Resene Fizz, Sandpaper, Scissors, Thick twine, Two empty 4 litre Resene paint tins
Top tip: You can also use 1 litre Resene paint tins to make smaller stilts – just get a grown up to drill 10mm holes in the sides to thread the twine through.

Step one
Remove any sticky labels from the tins and sand lightly to provide a ‘key’ – this will help the paint to stick.
Step two
Apply one coat of Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer to the paint tins and allow two hours to dry.
Step four
Paint spots on the tins with two coats of Resene Fizz, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step five
Cut the twine into two 1.8m lengths and tie the ends of each piece together to create two loops of twine (you might need a grown up to help with this bit).
Step six
Attach a loop of twine to the centre of each paint tin handle, threading the twine back though itself to fix firmly. Then get walking!
