Watering can plant holder
Brighten up a summerhouse or conservatory with this vibrant watering can plant holder.
Resene art with Mark Rayner - Project 93
Difficulty level: Easy
You will need: Clean cloth, galvanised watering can, paint stirrer, paintbrush, potted colour (we used white chrysanthemums), Resene Galvo-Prime, Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Spritzer, sandpaper.
To get the look: Mark painted the background summerhouse wall with Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Soft Apple.
Other ideas: For a rich red effect paint the watering can with Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Poppy.
Step one
Lightly sand the watering can to ‘key’ the surface.
Step two
Wipe off any sanding residue with a clean cloth.
Step four
Apply one coat of
Resene Galvo-Prime to the outside of the watering can and allow to dry.
Step six
Apply one coat of Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Spritzer to the outside of the watering can and allow to dry.
Step seven
Apply a second coat of Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Spritzer to the outside of the watering can and allow to dry.
Step eight
Place the potted colour in the watering can.
