Kitchen chair
Create a fun and funky kitchen chair using a combination of three sizzling hot Resene colours.

Difficulty level: Moderate
You will need: an old varnished kitchen chair, clean cloths, paintbrush and sandpaper. Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer and Resene Lustacryl tinted to Resene California, Resene Red Hot and Resene Spotlight.
To get the look: Mark painted the background wall with Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen tinted to Resene Bowie.
Other ideas: Try a brilliant green combination using Resene Area 51, Resene Limerick and Resene Moxie.
Step one
Clean any residue and dust from the chair with a slightly damp cloth and allow to dry.
Step two
Lightly sand the varnish to provide a ‘key’.
Step three
Wipe off any sanding dust with a clean dry cloth.
Step four
Apply one coat of Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer to the chair and allow two hours to dry.
Step five
Apply two coats of Resene Spotlight to the horizontal leg struts and the upright struts on the back of the chair, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step six
Apply two coats of Resene California to the curved outer back of the chair, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step seven
Apply two coats of Resene California to the chair legs, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step eight
Apply two coats of Resene Red Hot to the chair seat, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
