Use Resene Karen Walker Chalk Colour to quickly transform a plain corner unit into a stylish piece of furniture.

You will need
- Clean cloths
- Corner unit (ours was previously painted)
- Karen Walker Chalk Colour tinted to Resene Cooled Green
- Karen Walker Chalk Colour Soft Wax
- Karen Walker Chalk Colour Soft Wax
To get the look: Mark painted the background woodwork with Resene Lustacryl tinted to Resene Alabaster.
Other ideas: For a subtle blue effect, paint the corner unit with Karen Walker Chalk Colour tinted to Resene Half Periglacial Blue.
How to upcycle a corner unit
Step one
Lightly sand the corner unit to ‘key’ the surface.
Step two
Wipe off any sanding residue with a clean cloth.
Step three
Carefully stir the Resene Quick Dry.
Step four
Spot prime any areas of bare wood with Resene Quick Dry and allow to dry.
Step five
Carefully stir the Karen Walker Chalk Colour tinted to Resene Cooled Green.
Step six
Apply one coat of Karen Walker Chalk Colour tinted to Resene Cooled Green to the corner unit and allow to dry.
Step seven
Apply a second coat of Karen Walker Chalk Colour tinted to Resene Cooled Green to the corner unit and allow to dry.
Step eight
Wearing rubber gloves, apply a layer of Karen Walker Soft Wax to the corner unit with a clean cloth. Wipe off any excess wax with another clean cloth and allow the wax to dry.
