You will need

Top tip:  When applying Resene Woodsman Decking Oil Stain, always brush in the direction of the grain.

Other ideas:  For a dark brown effect use Resene Woodsman Decking Oil Stain tinted to Resene Dark Oak.

How to stain a wooden walkway

 

Step 1 - Mix Resene Moss & Mould Killer with water Step one
Mix one part Resene Moss & Mould Killer to five parts clean water.


Step 2 - Apply Resene Moss & Mould Killer to the walkway Step two
Wearing rubber gloves, saturate and scrub the solution into the wooden walkway with a stiff-bristled brush and leave for 48 hours.


Step 3 - Mix Resene Timber and Deck Wash with water Step three
Mix one part Resene Timber and Deck Wash to three parts clean water.


Step 4 - Clean the walkway Step four
Wearing rubber gloves, scrub the wooden walkway thoroughly with the solution using a stiff-bristled brush.


Step 5 - Rinse the walkway with clean water Step five
Rinse well with clean water and allow the wooden walkway to dry.


Step 6 - Stir the Resene Woodsman Decking Oil Stain Step six
Carefully stir the Resene Woodsman Decking Oil Stain tinted to Resene Warm Kwila.


Step 7 - Apply the stain Step seven
Apply one coat of Resene Woodsman Decking Oil Stain tinted to Resene Warm Kwila to the wooden walkway and allow to dry.


Step 8 - Apply the second coat of stain Step eight
Apply a second coat of Resene Woodsman Decking Oil Stain tinted to Resene Warm Kwila to the wooden walkway and allow to dry.
