Groovy CD tower
Get hip with this cool colourful wooden CD tower.
Resene art with Mark Rayner - Project 05
Difficulty level: Easy
You will need: 10 squares of cut pine each measuring 145mm x 145mm x 30mm, paintbrush, PVA Woodglue, Resene Aquaclear Gloss, Resene Waterborne Colorwood Testpots in the following colours: Resene Candlelight, Resene Capri, Resene Clairvoyant, Resene Clementine, Resene Greenstone, Resene Hibiscus and Resene Punch, sandpaper.
To get the look: Mark painted the background wall with Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen tinted to Resene Havelock Blue.
Other ideas: Get really funky and use one of the colours from the Resene Metallic & Special Effects range - remember to prime the wood first with Resene Quick Dry Acrylic Primer Undercoat.
Step one
Lightly sand the pine squares to smooth any rough edges.
Step two
Apply one coat of
Resene Clairvoyant to two of the squares, and one coat of
Resene Capri to one of the squares, following the direction of the grain. Allow to dry.
Step three
Apply one coat of
Resene Punch to two of the squares, and one coat of
Resene Greenstone to one of the squares, following the direction of the grain. Allow to dry.
Step four
Apply one coat of
Resene Hibiscus to two of the squares, and one coat of
Resene Clementine to one of the squares, following the direction of the grain. Allow to dry.
Step five
Apply one coat of
Resene Candlelight to the remaining square, following the direction of the grain. Allow to dry.
