Difficulty level: Easy

You will need: Bucket, Garden hose with clean running water, Good quality potting mix, Paintbrushes, Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Green Smoke and Resene Soft Apple, Resene Moss & Mould Killer, Resene Paint Prep and Housewash, Rubber gloves, Selection of herb and salad vegetable seedlings, Stiff-bristled brush, Wooden planter box.

To get the look: Mark also painted the background fence with Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Soft Apple.

Other ideas: For a fresh yellow effect paint the planter box with Resene Pale Prim and Resene Wild Thing.

Instructions

Step one
Mix one part Resene Moss & Mould Killer to five parts clean water.

Step two
Wearing rubber gloves, thoroughly soak the planter box with the solution and leave for 48 hours.

Step three
Mix one part Resene Paint Prep and Housewash to three parts clean water.

Step four
Scrub the planter box vigorously with the solution using a stiff-bristled brush.

Step five
Rinse the planter box with clean water and allow to dry.

Step six
Apply two coats of Resene Soft Apple to the front and sides of the planter box, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.

Step seven
Apply two coats of Resene Green Smoke to the top and inner edge of the planter box, as shown, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.

Step eight
Fill the planter box with good quality potting mix and plant up with a selection of your favourite herbs and salad vegetables.
